We have the classroom courses listed below.  We also have the following health & safety courses online (click on “Online Training” at the top of the page):  Ladder Hazard Awareness, Fall Protection Hazard Awareness, HAZWOPER Refresher, Hazard Communication Awareness, Asbestos Awareness, and SPCC Plan Implementation training.  Additional courses are in development.

HAZWOPER Initial 40 hours

The course is designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.  Hands-on activities and exercises included.

HAZWOPER Initial 24 hours

This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. Hands-on activities and exercises included.

HAZWOPER Refresher 8 hours

The Refresher Course meets the requirements outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for annual refresher training for workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards. (6 MA CE Credits and 8 MA Wastewater Operator TCH’s)  Course available online-(no MA CE credits or TCH’s for online course)

OSHA Construction Courses 10 & 30 hours

OSHA 10 & 30 hour courses are designed to help workers identify and correct safety hazards encountered in the work place.  Courses cover basic regulations relating to scaffolding, ladders, trenching and excavation, confined space entry, electrical, fall protection and personal protective equipment.  Upon successful completion of course, students will receive a federal OSHA wallet card.

RCRA/Manifest Signers Refresher course

This 8-hour course is for personnel who oversee on-site management and coordinate off-site shipments of hazardous waste.  

Silica Hazard Safety course

This 8-hour course is designed for construction workers who work with substances and materials that contain crystalline silica, as required by OSHA.  

Specific OSHA courses

Atlas also offers topic specific courses in Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Bloodborne Pathogens, DOT Regulatory, Fire Extinguisher, HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, and First Aid/CPR.  

Mold Remediation

This 8-hour course includes topics relating to safely removing mold and microbial contamination from buildings, background information on mold and the potential health effects of exposure, learning safe work methods and worker protection, work area containments and decons, cleaning and packing occupant belongings and post remediation activities.  

Microbial Investigations

This 16-hour course includes topics relating to investigating microbial (mold & bacteria) problems in buildings by sampling, visual assessments and lab report evaluation; evaluating building and HVAC moisture problems; assessing microbiological contamination; and designing and overseeing remediation efforts.
